A Message from Bernard Westgarth
That’s the 2023 Saltburn Summer League over.
A total of 22 senior members and 4 junior members competitively fished 127 during the league. 11 different species of fish were caught, 343 fish were returned, with 34 sizable mackerel being retained.
So, a very big thank you to all anglers for making the Summer League a great success and hopefully we will make 2024 bigger and better. Pass the word on to fellow anglers whenever you can.
A special mention to Craig Dalton for the sponsorship of the junior league. Thanks also to Guy Mason for his contribution. The juniors caught plenty of fish and learnt a lot from the seniors and in many cases beating them.
I believe the individual knockout was a good addition to the format this year and hopefully this will grow for next year’s league.
From myself and Barbara; congratulations to you all for your attendance, enjoy your winter fishing and hope to see you at the AGM in January when next year’s format will be discussed.
